"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." — E.B. White

Procrastinating - Thanks Donna!

Today one of my most favorite blogs, Funky Junk Interiors, kindly posted some pics of her projects (completed and not). Between her and the fellow commenters I now feel a wee bit better about my own supreme procrastination. I said in my very first post that one of my goals for this blog was to hold me accountable and to show the completion of some projects... umm yeah. That hasn't happened yet! I will now. In honor of Donna who is nearly at 2000 followers!!! Woooeeee, what a party it'll be! I can't even begin to imagine that.

Sooo, about that. I'll be back very soon to post my project pics! 'Til then I might be found over at Donna's fun site...

Ta DA - I AM back with a peek!
Below is our master bath that I mentioned in my comment on unfinished business at Donna's. This pic was taken and sent to calm my Mom as soon as we'd hung the towels three years(+) ago...
Minutes later I started REdecorating.
Removed those curtains. Tried some simpler white ones.
Better.
Decided I'd like them even more with a small white ball trim added.
Three years later still no trim sewn on.
Bought it and it is in the drawer...
Then I took down the basket thingy beside the window and hung some simple framed vintage postcards.
Then I began cluttering it all up while I waited to refinish the floors and complete crown and door moulding.
Still waiting.

I'll have to try hard to find and scan a pic of the space when we bought it...
THAT would make me feel better, as I described it then as worse than a frat house restroom.
It had an old washer, dryer and cheap vanity, cracked and moldy tiles, plus rotting windows..
And this was the only functioning bathroom they'd had.
The Farmer did put in a spiffy first floor powder room with shower just as soon as we'd bought the farm... Previously that area had been a nightmare of frayed electric resting in puddles of water.
And we did have a "kids" bath upstairs first. Tho for quite a while it had 2x4 studs with shower curtains tacked up as "walls..."
Needless to say my Mom was thrilled that I finally had a real master bathroom when I came home from the hospital with baby Jack!
As I type this I'm remembering that the beautiful jetted soaker tub was my Mother's Day gift from The Farmer - Thanks Sweetie for ALL you've done for our home!

Leslie-
Don't feel bad, we've lived in our house 14 years and we are still trying to keep it together...though not 200 years old, it is only 54 years old...but it was moved to it's current location and held together with whatever the old farmer before us could use to jerry-rig it...well, Now, my hubby and I in our efforts to make it a home these 14 years have done our best to McGyver it...Renovations are on going...
I said all that to say, Procrastination gets the blame, but really the elements- creep up on an old house, enough to keep you busy.
Welcome to Blogdom! I'm glad to see you posted your bathroom picture. I hope you're inspired by Donna and all the rest of the 'great one's' to continue trudging onward in your quest to renovate! I'll be watching you.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving such a sweet comment! Your blog is so cute! I love the burlap, quotes, and header pic! I live in the country and grew up with horses. Now, I live on 1 acre, so dreams of a farm will have to wait a while. Followin' ya!
