"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." — E.B. White

Luv "Old Sh!#"

Just saw this MIranda Lambert youTube farm tribute on FB and
LOVE IT!

One man's trash is another mans treasure,
One man's pain is another mans pleasure,
If it's out of style, sure drives me wild
I'm a fan of it, old shit

Singin hymns, skippin stones
When i think of him i think of home,
I'm a fan of it, old shit

I think it'll replace my Oscar the Grouch song as my favorite -
"Oh, I LOVE TRASH!
Anything dirty or dingy or dusty! Anything ragged or rotten or rusty!"

Happy junkin' y'all!

(I'm gearin' up to have a farm sale this spring so check back if you like Old Shit!)

Ridic chicks

So, I probably don't need to tell you it's been extra cold lately.
It's driven me to drastic measures.
You see, I have a special needs chicken.

But although I am feeling crazy, I am not a good knitter

maybe buy one@ http://www.ebay.com/itm/351318762465

So instead of walking my chicken, I do what any slightly more sane person would do.

I let her live in my closet.

Well, in truth, that's because she was bumped out of the bathroom by the "barn cats."
And with a new naughty puppy and an old house with few doors and no basement or garage…
Whadya gonna do?
Besides, being as it's wicked cold, all our coats are out in use anyway.

If I keep this up much longer I may need to look into these
chicken diapers!

This is pretty cute too!
(Tho I'd bet they haven't yet experienced the chicken dust!)

And found through Country Living ~
European designer Ton Matton has devised a way to turn an old cupboard into a functioning chicken coop. The cupboard's drawers house soil, feed, straw, and eggs, while the larger portions function as homes for each chicken. Matton also fashioned curtains on the inside of each compartment, since chickens prefer to lay their eggs the dark.

This line made me LOL
"According to European law, three free-range chickens are allowed in this cupboard," Matton writes on his website. "They have a place to scratch, to eat, and to lay an egg."

Not so sure what zoning here might say, but...
How cray cray am I that I might actually try some version of this one?!

I mean, she can't live in the closet forever. can she???
