"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." — E.B. White

Snowflakes

I know! Can you believe it - 2 posts in 2 days?! I love snow days!
Finally my inside decor reflects the outside.
We've seen few flakes this winter.
Everyone's been waiting to play in the snow.

Nick seeming to forget he's short, fat n old,  says "bring it Olivia!"

Olivia's happy to fight down n dirty n try to knock his stubby legs out from under him

Well, almost everyone.
Do I have to go down there?

Ewwww,  I no likey!

We made our redneck preparations for a big ice storm this weekend
But were thrilled to find softer snow instead....
PERFECT sledding weather!

I love sledding too and let each kid take a few pics while I played...
Jack's pics

Sarah's pic

Have you all had your sleds out much lately?

Well, if it were as cold as January's supposed to be, we'd have a foot of snow, instead of all this rain. But since we don't have a barn to park our cars, that's just as well.

Sarah's quite a good photographer herself--I love that she captured the background of those rolling hills. And thank Jack for letting us see your big, pretty yellow barn!

We have had almost no snow and I am sad about it. Stuart's not. He is sick of the warm weather then cold then warm...makes for sick cattle. Lots of respiratory issues.
You are so stinking cute. I love your house and I would die to have those brick walls. The beagle is my kind of dog...old and fat and cute!

Oh, and I forgot to say your chickens sure are purdy! Especially in the snow.

I am glad to see I am not the only person who hides their car in the barn aisle when bad weather is coming. The sledding pictures are so stunning. You all shine with happiness.

What awesomely fun pictures! Looks like you all had a blast!
We have had exactly one snow and it lasted a day before the rain turned it into a disaster.
What's up with this winter???

Our snow like that lasted two days, until we had a big THUNDERSTORM the other night...now it's just sloppy. Our kids have been so disappointed with the weather this year too.
