I was in a military family - nothing since then can compare --- the entire family served in their own way. And it's not easy, the if you love your military duty as a wife or whatever, you will do just fine. Today,my family still serves as we have to watch Deputy Dave leave home every day with his body armor on under his uniform, he has his 9mil or 44 strapped to him with extra help from the tazer also strapped to his equipment belt. One layer after another layer in this hot Texas sun, but it's what he does to make sure the citizens have as much protection as possible.
