"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." — E.B. White

M U D

Whew, it's Friday!
It's been a good week round the farm, but we're water logged
and M U D D Y.
Still, the grass is greening and the crocus blooming.

They say we've had 6+ inches of rain this week!
I wish I 'd been able to capture our creek cresting...
It rises and falls so fast. Sitting beside our road, the road is often closed briefly.
Our front pastures become wetlands for a few hours, then just squishy turf again...
We will soon get geese paired up there to raise their babies.

Meanwhile. anyone wanna come groom horses?
Or clean out the barn?
Yuck!!!!
Me neither.
Even Olivia looks like she dug in a sea o mud... My poor pics don't capture it but she was coated with liquid mud from her toes to her eyeballs.

On a happier note ~

The Farmer worked through the last storm to lay a new floor in my
hog barn/shop!
Some helped...
Some danced with joy.

And although Hugs n Kisses had to go home due to spring induced hormonal red headed mare syndrome (just too much for wee kids)...
Sarah n Lucky enjoyed some lovely evening trailrides with dear Wilma tagging along as usual. Wilma runs, n bucks, n scampers n scoots. And comes when she's called.
We LOVE Wilma!

Tonight we promised the kids they could make pizza, then snuggle down with movies and sleep in our bed with us. Sarah's like sleeping with a deer in a sack. It's all about the memories, not sleep tho, right?

Happy weekend to you my Friends!!!!

Sounds like fun all around! We're muddy here, but haven't got as much rain as you! What kind of dog (in the picture) do you have? We have a stray whose markings look alot like yours. She's been with us for 2 1/2 years now.

It is all about memories not sleep. Amen. I need a tattoo that says that. AND don't you love having goats? Aren't they joyful?

Well smiling from ear to ear as I always do when I visit here. Oh my 5 year old loves mud...in fact he has said since he was 2 "I love, love, love mud"...so he would be in hog heaven!
In fact he has a shirt that says I love dirt!
Your shop is looking great, how much fun. All the pictures are great and love the dancing daughter, what a precious spirit.

Well I hope it drys out some...we are needing the rain so send it our way.

That mud looks miserable. We've got quite the muddy messy barnyard now too. That whole pizza night sounds like some great memories in the making!

I’m right there with you-mud central here. I absolutely hate the muddy season--it is more than I can bare some days :) LOL Glad I’m not alone though. Awesome picks--love the one of your daughter riding her horse and the adorable goat following along. That sounds like my kinda goat--I want a few so badly.
Thanks for sharing with Farm Friend Friday gal :)

You couldn't be more right...it IS all about the memories! And yep...sleep is not usually the priority...someone always starts drifting sideways before the night's over! -Mary

Sounds like ya'll had the perfect weekend planned.

Yep, we are knee deep in mud 'round the Ponderosa. Ya should see us get the loaded semi outta the silage pit area. It's not a pretty sight!!!

God bless ya and have a terrific Tuesday!!! :o)

I guess there's no getting around it...spring equals mud. And lots of it. When we lived in our suburban cul-de-sac, my boys had a hard time finding enough to make a mud pie, but here in the country it is plentiful, that's for sure!
