"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." — E.B. White

Jeepers PEEPERS!!!

I know that a lot of ya'll get fired up over Fireflies, but as I just explained to Sarah...
I L<3VE Peepers!
Nothing says brighter days are ahead more than peepers.
Goodbye long, hard winter (a fav Little House book tho)

Helloooooooo SPRING!!!!!

As I wrapped up chores last night I could hear their beautiful music.
The Farmer stepped out onto the porch to enjoy it with me.

Indeed, it brings such happy feelings that I once named a newborn foal "Peepers" after nights sleeping in the barn, serenaded by their sound, as I waited for her arrival.

Picture and text are from  here where you
 can learn much more.

Spring Peepers are small frogs that grow less than an inch and a half long. They can be tan or gray or dark brown, but they all have a dark "X" on their backs. Spring Peepers also have large toe pads for gripping plants when they climb.
Spring Peepers are rarely seen, but are often heard in early Spring. They breedfrom March to June, and in early March you can hear male Spring Peepers calling for mates. Many people think they are crickets, but you only hear crickets in late Summer and early Fall.

Wishing you all sunshine and beautiful music today!
Spring's a comin'!

Oh I can't wait until Benjamin gets home to share this with him! I agree I love the sounds. In fact one time God just wrapped His arms around me with encouragement from a bull frog singing in my backyard.

Great post...as always, cheerful and just full of life, which is so totally you.

Hugs and may you have a blessed weekend.

I'm with you, Leslie!! Love those Peepers!! Actually, I'm slightly more smitten with Western Chorus Frogs (make the 'thumbnail on a comb' sound). They're usually our first harbingers of Spring (Feb 25 is normally the date they start singing here in MO). However this year it was the beloved Peepers who ran in Spring, before the Chorus!! Love me some good frog music ♥ Enjoy!! -Tammy
