"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." — E.B. White

Horses and heartache

I wish someone could tell me why horses and heartache so often go together...
Horses bring so much joy.
Losing them brings too much pain.
In my thirty plus years with horses I've dealt with a lot...
You'd think it'd get easier...
Somehow it seems the opposite.

On Saturday we lost a treasure~ "Balion."

Bali sure was a "classy" guy!

He taught us all so much.

xOxOThanks soooo MUCH for sharing him
with me and my family Ashley n Diane!!!!!!xOxO

He made us all smile and appreciate our time in the saddle.
EVERYONE who met him became his fan.

Bali had looks, brains and talent
(and more than a few endearing quirks)
wrapped up in one huge heart.
He will be immensely missed.

 "Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you,
Until we meet again.
Happy trails to you,
Keep smilin' until then.

Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song, and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you,
Til we meet again."

We love you Bali!

He was loved, and obviously enjoyed his life. And there's nothing sad about that part. But it's clear why he'd leave a big hole in a lot of people's lives. Looks like one of those horses you're honored to have known.

Oh honey - I am so sorry. He looks like a good worker and a great guy. It so sad. Horses are so stinking loveable when they are good guys that when they have to go they leave such a hole in your heart.

Here you are leaving such kind words for my loss and this was just about the sweetest tribute. It brought tears to my eyes! It sure looks like he brought so much joy to everyone who met him.

My husband grew up with horses so I know the connection they have on humans. When he lost Scooter he was so sad. He still talks about him.

Take care and enjoy the memories! You sure have some beautiful pictures to look back on!
